Apple!
It is beautiful, no doubt. People have been queuing up outside apple stores for days, to be he first ones to lay their hands on it. Not surprisingly, it is sold out at all stores, till the next lot comes in. The lucky ones who have managed to get one, have obviously become celebrities. So here I'd like to honor a certain Greg Packer. The man who has shot to fame after managing to be the 'first in line' outside the Apple Store in 5th Avenue, NY-undoubtedly the classiest apple store in the world.
The note next to this jolly fellow reads:
"Hello NYC!!! I'm here in line already for an iPhone on sale 6 PM Friday June 29th. Donations for food + metrocards accepted!!! Thank you NYC for your support!!!Notice how well-stocked he is, with fruits, fluids and other eats and entertainment stuff. And as expected he is one celebrity, after being the first ever to buy an apple iPhone. Now Greg is not jst any other guy, he is a professional line sitter. Yup, he is famous for being the "first in line" for many major events, leave alone the iPhone launch. He began camping before the 5th Avenue Apple store, approx. 110 hours before its release. And no customer came after him, until the release was afew hours away!
Quoting from Wikipedia, my favorite website:
- "He was first in the line to see ground zero when the viewing platform opened at the World Trade Center site December 30, 2001.
- He was the first in line in 1997 to sign the condolence book at the British consulate when Princess Diana died.
- He slept outside in the snow in Washington in January 2001 to be the first in line to greet President George W. Bush after his inauguration.
By the way, the fifth avenue Apple Store is B-E-A- yutiful!

I personally have visited only one apple store- the one in London, Regent Street. That rocks too, and it is the largest apple store in the world!
I am currently fretting and fuming, over the lack of a single Apple Store in India, leave alone Delhi. But there is a ray of hope, the Mukesh Ambani-Reliance Retail is negotiating with apple to partner the incoming of the first apple store in India, lets hope this happens in New Delhi and fast! Here is a rather interesting, infact very enjoyable video of the person who was first in line at the Apple store in CambridgeSide Galleria Mall, Cambridge, Mass. Do see it, it is absolutely fantastic!
